The Cultural Rhythms of Variant Chinese Characters

Why did some character forms survive in Zhuang manuscripts after falling out of use elsewhere? This project compares handwritten texts, historical dictionaries, and regional writing practices to explore how communities preserve inherited forms, adapt their meanings, and put them to new uses.
