U+2A9B8 and the comparison lug / lủc / luuk constitute only a candidate cluster of sounds and meanings. Comparison must combine character structure, pronunciation / tone, meaning, syntactic / ritual position, and distribution. Shared Chinese-character resources do not establish common etymology or the direction of transmission.
Evidence limits and unresolved readings
The relationship of U+2A9B8 to Zhuang lug, Nôm lủc, and Thai luuk remains a comparative hypothesis to test. U+2DECD is again used for 留 (‘retain / remain’).
