A53 · AUGUST 2026 WORKING ENTRY

交𥚃肯唐书觋

Jiao [unread character]ken tang shu xi

Edition & evidence

This is the corrected August working catalogue, not a final physical bibliography. Later September re-readings are presented separately in the GSS research dossier. Dating candidates, locations, interpretations, and unresolved readings are preserved as distinct evidence layers.

The English commentary accompanies the preserved Chinese record. Quoted historical wording and unidentified characters are retained; candidate readings remain provisional.

Working tags

Nôm characters · Zhuang writing · Five- / seven-syllable lines · Chanted scripture

Names and recorded roles

Huang Daoyuan (黄道源), with 置 (acquisition / possession).

Date as written

Wuxu year (戊戌), final lunar month, day 24.

Dating candidates in the August edition

Provisionally 1898; a conditional judgment.

Dating rationale

Wuxu candidates are 1838 and 1898. A55 names Huang Daoyuan in a book attributed to 1940. If handwriting and identity establish the same person, the 42-year interval from 1898 is plausible, whereas 1838 would entail 102 years. This makes 1898 more reasonable, conditionally.

Confidence in the August edition

Moderate; the same person's identity must be verified.

Place formula as written

Not found in the available record.

Historical geography and its limits

The available record contains no place names suitable for reconstructing an administrative hierarchy. Provenance is not inferred from the style of the contents.

Textual features

The first section is mostly identified by the researcher as Nôm, mixing five- and seven-syllable lines. The latter section shifts to more familiar Zhuang chanted scripture.

Analysis in the August edition

The internal shift from predominantly Nôm writing to familiar Zhuang chanted scripture is a candidate case of functional differentiation within one volume. Test it through paragraph boundaries, line lengths, and character coding before discussing interaction between the two writing ecologies.

Evidence limits and unresolved readings

Establish whether the Huang Daoyuan named here and in A55 is the same person through handwriting, character usage, and material features.
